Try to figure out the problem
Okay, we know you’re unlikely to be an expert in commercial refrigeration repair, but this shouldn’t stop you trying to figure out what the problem could be.
Some issues that arise with a refrigerator are fairly easy to spot. Perhaps a certain area of the system seems to be more affected than others, is emitting a strange sound or what exactly is happening to your produce could give you a clue.
Of course, we’re not expecting you to fix the issue yourself, but knowing more about the problem from further inspection should give you peace of mind. Moreover, if you’ve identified exactly where the problem is, this can help further down the line when providing more information to a refrigeration expert should you decide to call upon them.
Turn off your refrigerator
Without extensive knowledge of what the problem could be and how to fix it, the safest and most sensible option is to turn the refrigerator off completely.
Your system may need to be running to identify the issues you’re facing, but once you’ve figured out what it could be, it’s best to turn the system off.
Resort to a backup system
As we know, overcrowding in a commercial refrigerator is a big no no, potentially causing faults to your system. So, if your reserve refrigerators are already full to the brim, we don’t recommend adding any more. But if, room permitting, there is space available in any other refrigerators you have at your disposal, it may be worth temporarily moving your produce there – providing they can be housed at the same temperature.
This will make sure products don’t spoil, whilst your faltering fridge is undergoing surgery, restoring it to its prior condition!
